Frustrated with this wiring?

So I have a Mitchell MD400 .I decided I'd change the output jack do to some noise and cut outs.i figured while doing this I would put some quality pickups in as well .I chose the semour Duncan shr-1 hot rails for strat ,for the neck because they measured up and they sounded like something is like. I paired it with a semour Duncan alnico 2 pro humbucker for the same reason. I picked up a 5 way selector and a Ernie ball 500k pot for good measure. With that said I wired it up the way it was but it didn't work and I played with it and got some success but never had everything. One of the selector spots never seemed to work so I eventually took it all apart including the switch . To see what I could see and to start fresh. The guitar came with a similar set of pickups a 3 way selector 2 volume pot 500k and a push pull tone pot. The older style. Everything is still useable except probably the 3 way selector switch (blade style). It's been 2 daze and to frustrated yo write post. I've looking for similar wiring diagrams but can't find one. I'm hoping there is someone here that just knows what to do,and preferably has a diagram. Thanks.
Also I have a meter ,and solder iron. I fair decent with both.

I'm not sure what you're using the push/pull for, so I didn't include it. This is the basics of what you are looking for.

Yes, but the neck/bridge would share the same layout unless you're using the push/pull for coil split or series/parallel.

So just wire it together with the white. Also any chance you can find the same thing with the push pull or doesn't it make sense with the 5 blade selector?

Red/White wired together equals a series humbucker. So the bridge/neck would be wired the same way. I used a 3-way switch that is usual for a two-pickup guitar. A 5-way switch is mostly used with three pickups, not two. Unless the 5-way is a super-switch that can be used for many different options. I didn't show a push/pull because I don't know what it's being used for.

Quick question.i don't see a ground on the switch either. I have it wired up but I'm hesitant to put it together without a ground on the selector switch.should it be grounded and if so where

There's usually a small hole on the side of the switch. The ground goes from that to the back of the pot,

So I got it together and I have some questions.first all 4 pickups are on at the same time in all 4 positions and they all sound the same .aren't they supposed to switch combinations? Also I noticed that I can't turn either one of my pickups all the way down . If I do I get know sound. I thought I should be able to turn the volume down on either .

Sure ,can I do it tomorrow.its all back together and Ive been working on it all day. Ill open it up tomorrow and post some pics.thanks for responding

4 pickups and four positions? im confused here. i thought there was two pups and a three way. post a clear detailed pic and we can try and help

Hopefully you can see what's going on in these pics I may have to pull it apart .I'll have to pull it apart to change what ever anyways. Also if ld like to yours the master tone pull pot to split a coil. In the diagram I followed both red and white are taped together. As far as my problem with not switching or shutting off pickups. I wonder if I bridged to many contacts on the selector. Also it is 2 pickups and a 5 position switch. I said 4 pickups because I was thinking about splitting them or one of them with the pull pot.
