$1 starting bid. :cool2:

Man, if it wasn't for all the burns and nail gun wounds, I might have been interested. What's left of the paint job is kinda cool though.

I actually think it looks way cooler with all the damage. I used to have another Iceberg TAT that was all beat up as well. :cool2:

For almost $2000 it has a $40 no-name Schaller copy trem that you can find on Ebay? I would have expected a OFR for this kind of price. Is it a non name Schaller actually made in West Germany in the Schaller factory?

Is this pretty much the same trem on this guitar? Basically it looks like what would be a Jackson JT-500 which was the worst trem they ever installed on a Jackson.

Not trying to dis the seller's guitar but I know if I was selling something like this for this kind of cash I'd be razzed about the burn marks and the gouges out of the wood, not to mention the dust/dirt on the headstock.

I'm not into guitars with signatures of "famous people" or stuff like this, just because it was so and so's guitar, which may be the reason I don't get why this would fetch this kind of dough. Sounds like they could make sculptures out of Arch Enemie's turds and make a killing on Ebay.

It's the same trem that Caparison uses on all of their guitars. I prefer them to OFR's actually. They hold tune every bit as well and they have a stiffer feel to them which is great for heavy palm muted riffing. Schaller actually makes the OFR trems by the way.

Re: FS: Chris Amott/Arch Enemy Owned Caparison TAT

I know Schaller makes the OFR, but does it have the made in W. Germany imprint on the side where the bar goes in, like all Schallers do? Just curious.

Re: FS: Chris Amott/Arch Enemy Owned Caparison TAT

No, it's not. It's a cheap copy without the Schaller logo.

Chris replaced the bridge himself, it functions exactly the same and is an exact copy of the original. Why would he replace the bridge with a random cheap piece of **** that he has to use? He wouldn't. The trem stays in tune great and works perfectly.

**** homeboy, relax. you are sounding a little bit aggressive ther man.

Sorry, but it's still a COPY. They're less expensive and made with cheaper metal. It may be fine now, but what about in the long run? Did Chris actually use the guitar with the copy, or did he put the copy on after deciding to sell the guitar? What happened to the original Schaller? The guitar has obviously been abused, so who's to say he didn't **** up the original Schaller as well? Original Floyds and Schallers are made in Schaller's West German factory and are considered to be the best and stand the test of time compared to any copy. Though, the Schaller itself is a "copy", it's still better than the one now on the guitar.

Dude, its an auction, the buyers set the price... don't like it? Don't buy it! Simple as that, rather than sitting there getting all high and mighty and whining about it.

I'm not whining about it I just don't see why any sane person would bid that high on a guitar that's in that shape no matter WHO owned it. Hell I have a hard time moving a pampered guitar barely breathed on and this one is selling over $2000 and the headstock had dirt and grime and looks like it hasnt been cleaned in over a year. If that's whining to you, then I don't know what to say to you.

I totally agree. It's beat up, and it's missing the original trem and a pickup.

Re: FS: Chris Amott/Arch Enemy Owned Caparison TAT

Yes Chris actually used the replacement trem. That had nothing to do with him selling it. He sold it because Caparison offered him a signature model, the Dellinger CA. He also replaced the neck pickup because it sounds a hundred times better than the stock Caparison VS-1 in the neck.

Re: FS: Chris Amott/Arch Enemy Owned Caparison TAT

I'm pretty sure that the people bidding on this guitar are doing so in part because it was beaten up by Chris Amott.
