i'm tempted but wonder how it would sound in a floyd equipped guitar where the strings won't line up with the poles.... does it make that much of a difference?

Won't sound any different than an f-spaced version--- especially with a high output pickup like this. Polepieces lining up is only an aesthetic thing, doesn't affect sound.
