Check it out!! Tons of upgrades: tuners, nut, electronics, and even comes with extra, easily switchable pickguard for the standard 3 single coil setup, and an extra mini JB for that setup if you choose!

I personally refinished this in Nitro, same Surf Green color, for a thin, resonant and classic finish!! Much lighter and better feeling than Poly!!

$750 for a MIM strat that was non-professionally re-finished in the same color? I wish you luck, but I'm not confident you'll get that.

Yeah. "Upgrades" very rarely add monetary value to a cheap guitar, and will sometimes even take away value. Not that the guitar isn't cool, but nobody will pay that much for it. But it's worth a shot one time through an auction, I guess. What the hay.

I'll give you tree fiddy.

Seriously, that's the most I'd pay for it.

Re: FS: Fender Tom Delonge Strat Refinished Nitro and Upgraded!

They're nice guitars (I've owned/modded several in years past), and they hold value pretty well because they are discontinued. But I have to agree that $750 is over the top. If you have that much into it, maybe just keep it. Good luck either way though.

Re: FS: Fender Tom Delonge Strat Refinished Nitro and Upgraded!

I appreciate the feedback and have taken all of it into consideration.

I've seen these go for $650 or more, and that is with a thick poly coat of finish on it. I am not a professional, but the thin nitro finish on this thing really makes the difference and is worth the price!

Don't forget an extra loaded pickguard and SD Mini JB pickup!

Hopefully you get your price.
If you dont, return it to stock, sell all those other parts for $150, and then get $600-$650 for it.

Re: FS: Fender Tom Delonge Strat Refinished Nitro and Upgraded!

True, that may be a good way to go if nobody wants it!

Hopefully someone out there wants these upgrades on the guitar already and goes for it!

Theres one of these for sale locally for $325 and that seems way to high to me.

I'll trade you an 2002 Korean Epi Les Paul Honey Quilt for it, it's loaded with vintage paf's

Unfortunately, most people have no idea what that means, and would rather it were stock.

If that is a Fender version and not a Squier version then that's a damn good price.

none of that matters. It's not stock. you depreciated it's value severely when you refinished it too. sorry man.

Re: FS: Fender Tom Delonge Strat Refinished Nitro and Upgraded!

They do not routinely go for $650. If you saw one sell for that much, it was probably a gray market new item or a barely used guitar. Normal value for a used one would be $450 to $550. Then subtract for a major modification and, well...you're better off parting it out. I can see asking high and taking offers as a selling strategy...but not arguing that the guitar is actually worth that high asking price. That just reeks of "greasy seller" from a potential buyer's P.O.V.

Why do all that work on a guitar that you end up selling anyhow? It's a sure-fire way to come out down several hundred bucks in the end.
