What's it measure out as? I'd be up for it but want to make sure it's not a 490R or 490T. I bought one once and it definately wasn't a 496R and the guy swore it was so I chalked up a loss. Want to avoid that again if possible and since Gibson doesn't mark their pickups the only way to identify it is to measure resistance.

I have no way of measuring the resistance but I can assure you, this is definitely a 496R. I bought the Gibson Les Paul Classic brand new in 1991 from Daddys's Junky Music in Peabody, MA.

I kept that guitar until I lost interest in the thin neck a few years ago but I sold it with a set of Duncans, not the stock Gibsons.

I have a LP Studio with a 490 neck and tonally this 496R is very different.
