SOLD 1989 Gibson HB-R/HB-L Matched Set x 2 SOLD - 1 Gold/1 Chrome...$169.99 PER SET WITH $8.50 SHIPPING FOR CONTINENTAL USA...UP FOR GRABS...A RARE MATCHED SET OF 1988 GIBSON THE ORIGINAL HB-R (approx. 7.6k) & THE ORIGINAL HB-L (approx. 13.65k) HUMBUCKER PICKUPS FROM A 1988 GIBSON LES PAUL STANDARD. 4 WIRE SO THEY CAN BE SPLIT/TAPPED. BOTTOM LINE...THESE ARE GREAT SOUNDING PICKUPS IN ANY APPLICATION!!! This auction is for a set finished in GOLD.

The Gibson HB-R (neck position) and the HB-L (bridge position) "The Original" Circuit-Board Humbuckers were the result of an exceptional collaboration between Bill Lawrence and Gibson when he re-joined the Gibson team in the late eighties.

The HB-R & HB-L pickups are thought by many to combine the low-end aggressiveness of a Bill Lawrence 500-L with the precision of a Gibson Classic '57 Humbucker

After having several pairs of these pickups and using them in various guitars, I finally got a handle on these pickups - the Gibson HB-R/HB-L Humbuckers are of a "High Fidelity" Nature very much like Ultrasonic Humbuckers (also Bill Lawrence Design...see below) in that they both had Circuit Board Backs, Low String Pull/No Feedback so you can put them as close to the strings as you want w/o issues, Manufactured in West Germany, and, if you read the below description...it is pretty much word for word describes these humbuckers...

*** UltraSonics were passive pickups made in West Germany and designed by Bill Lawrence. They were billed as being tonaly neutral so they let the guitars natural character through. They did this by having a flat eq. They also used "rare earth magnets".

Ultrasonics should be installed very close to the strings because they have virtually no string pull. They are not alike ordinary passive pickups.

SOLD 2002/2004 Rio Grande Jazz Blues Bar P90 Soapbar Pickups in Black SOLD - $120.00 PLUS $7.50 SHIPPING FOR CONTINENTAL USA...One Set of Rio Grand Jazz Bar/Blues Bar P90 Pickups in Black...in excellent condition and a fabulous upgrade over any stock P90 P-90 Pickups...P-90 pickups were introduced in 1946 when Gibson resumed guitar production after World War II, and by the end of the 1940's it was the standard pickup on all models, including the Les Paul introduced in 1952.

Rio Grande has not forgotten the P-90 lover, and the Rio Grande Bar Pack set includes their Jazz Bar and Blues Bar P-90 pickups in a convenient set package.

The Jazz Bar is a RWPR neck pickup designed to provide clear, punchy P-90 sounds with a hit of fatness that is balanced in a way that only Rio Grande can do. ANILCO 5 bar magnet with metal bass plate, 9.0K resistance.

The Blues Bar bridge pickup really cranks your guitar up a notch. While not much louder than the standard P-90, this pickup has a huge sound with a broad flat midrange that is just plain fat everywhere in the response curve. But this is no dark and murky sounding pickup: Just lots of power that easily pushes any amp into mild crunch with very little coaxing. Best of all, this pickup turns down nicely revealing a clean crisp top end, especially if your guitar uses the "vintage" wiring schematic employed by Gibson in their Historic and VOS guitars (an easy mod too). I don't know how Rio Grande does it, but if you live at "the bridge" this is your pickup. 12.5K resistance, ANILCO 5 bar magnets with metal base plate, includes hardware and wiring instructions.
