FS: ***LOADED*** USACG --Mahogany-- HSS Super Strat HARDTAIL body w/ MJT Nitro Finish Inca Silver, Medium Relic
So last year, I had a really nice strat neck lying around, and got the bug to make a HSS Superstrat. I built a killer, premium tonewood, relic'd beauty, but at the end of the day A. I love Tele's and B. I just don't jive with HSS. I've decided to part out this guitar, and would love to sell the body loaded.
BODY: This is a premium-selected piece of lightweight "Equitorial Mahogany" from USACG. They hand selected it for me to be lightweight. It clocks in right around 3.75 pounds, which results in a very lightweight guitar, right around 7 pounds total. Super comfy. The tone is resonant and full - the Mahogany adds a richness and beef that you usually don't get with an alder superstrat. HARDTAIL bridge rout too, for extra beef!
FINISH:Once again, MJT knocked it out of the park with this one. Inca Silver over white primer, with gorgeous horizontal checking. Just superb.
ELECTRONICS: This is a custom-made, hand-wound set from Mick at Manlius Pickups. The bridge is an Alnico 5 overwound "Landmark" PAF. Right around 8.8K on my meter. The tone is like a PAF, but juiced up. Sounds perfect in this guitar. The Neck and Mid are *really* cool. They're Mick's SP90 pickups - basically, miniaturized P90s in a strat pickup size. Smokier than a usual single coil, but plenty of definition and punch.
So this is about the 25th guitar that I've made. Everything has been put together with true care and attention to detail. The guitar has been assembled, tested, and sounds amazing, but technically is 100% un-used - besides the relic job. Like new. Like I said, I'm just really a Tele guy, and I have *way* too many guitars at this point.
Total cost breakdown:
Electronics total: $250
Raw USACG Body: $225 (extra $$ for premium weight)
MJT Finish: $275
Total: $750 of premium wood, expertly relic'd nitrocellulose lacquer, and hand wound boutique pickups.
All you have to do is bolt on a neck, string it up, and roll. Totally ready to rock.
I'm looking to get $600 for the entire package here.
Any questions? Please feel free to reach out!
NOTE: That funky mark on the body is a scratch on my camera lens. It is *not* damage.
OPTIONS:
Want it parted out even more? I can do that.
Want a different pickguard? I have a relic black HSS one, and a few SSS ones as well!
Want it without the pickguard/electronics? I can do that.
Want a different bridge? Let me know, I'd be happy to install for you.
Want a different magnet in the bridge humbucker? I can do that too, A2 or A4
Want another knob added to this mint HSS guard? I can do that.
