I've been going back and forth on selling this for a while, but sadly, it may finally be it's time.
Now before you confuse the words "First Act" with "piece of crap," let me give the back story I need to give every time I talk about this guitar!!!
With First Act, you got your junk piles that they sell in Wal-Mart, which is what most people associate with the name. But there is also a shop here in Boston, and there you find the USA-made, custom shop pieces of beauty. Most of the workers who make the First Act guitars, including Kelly Butler who made this by himself, are former Gibson Custom Shop employees. These are the real deal! The quality is as high as anything you'll find coming out of Gibson's shop, but at a fraction of the price and far more interaction between yourself and the builder. I once had a question about the guitar, emailed Kelly and got a reply the same day. Called him up the following day and got to talk to him on the phone. Try talking to the dude who built your guitar at Gibson! Class act, this company is.
As for the guitar itself, it's a rock monster. When I got mine in January, I was told they were going to be released as the Baby Delia model, a sister to the semi-hollow Delia series that you see many hot players with these days. I checked out First Act today, and found they have been released as the Delia LS model. Mine is one of three prototypes, and the only prototype in it's color. Jason Isbell, formerly of the Drive-By Truckers and now embarking on a great solo career, is one of the other owners of the Baby Delia/Delia LS. All mahogany body and neck, rosewood board...sounds kinda like an SG but with a bit more snap due to the 25" scale. The pickups are made by Kent Armstrong, neck pickup is what I believe First Act is now calling a K90 while the bridge pickup is a humbucker (on the production models, both pups are K90s).
For more info on the production models (only small differences from them and this guitar) you can check here.
The guitar is not in perfect condition...it has its share of dings and scratches...it's been played! I'd list it in very good condition...has some battle scars, none that are easy to photograph, but all are completely cosmetic.
I need to take some better pictures, but here are a few to start....
TRADES...lemme know what you got!
Any questions/need for more pictures feel free to ask!
Thanks for looking!
