Something Cool
[ UPDATES:
- STRAT SOLD
- LP STUDIO PENDING
- PRS ON HOLD UNTIL AUG 1]

Looking to trade a few guitars I don't use. I have 5 LP style guitars
total and I "only" want to keep 2.

I'm mainly looking for trades on these guitars as sales prices are too
low, but I give a price for outright sale. Prices are shipped and
when using paypal we share fees (1.375% each).

Not listed yet is my black 1980 Hamer Sunburst, but it can be
available in larger trades. Let me know.

Looking to trade for: cool Strat, Superstrat/Shredder, SG or
up-trade to Gibson R7 or R8. More details at the end of the posting.

[SALE ON LP PENDING]

First up is a 1996 Les Paul Studio, wine red, gold hardware.

It's in great shape, see the photos. Not brand new but only minimal
scratching. Gold hardware has very light tarnish on the TOM and some
pickmarks on the neck humbucker. The headstock hasn't been bumped at
all, neither did the neck. Of course no cracks or anything like that.

Here it is pictured with more manly pickups:

More pics: http://www.cons.org/music/lpstudio/

Pickups are 490R at 7.7 Kohm and 498T at 13.5 Kohm (that means it has
Gibson's somewhat Custom-5 equivalent in the bridge). Comes in that
brown "collectors" Gibson case. New strings and fresh setup with
intonation using a chromatic tuner.

Straight trade for a SG standard (extra $$$ possible) or see my trade
list.

$800 shipped outright sale. I am willing to go down in price if you
don't want the pickups and/or the case. $650 shipped without pickups
and without case.

[SALE ON PRS PENDING]

A 2000 McCarty maple top hardtail, dark blue with chrome hardware.
Wide fat neck. Moon inlays.

It's in great shape with very minor bumping, see photos. The color
makes the bumps stand out more in the photos, for example the small
bright spot on the back of the neck is almost impossible to feel. The
major sign of age is some tarnishing on the pickup covers.

This guitar looks very different depending on light. It's pretty dark
without direct bright light. I took several pictures in different
light, more pics are here: http://www.cons.org/music/mccarty/

Apart from listed trades I'd take a PRS Mira, a Swamp Ash Special or a
Jackson Soloist SL1 or SL2H (dollars could go either way).

$1300 straight sale shipped including PRS case. $1200 without
pickups.

My old "lawsuit" 1970ties Ibanez Strat.

Black refinish, non-original knobs. Middle pickup has been messed
with but is not rewound (sounds the same as the others).

This is a multi-layer body. But some high-quality parts such as a MIJ
big-block tremolo.

A crack in the lower side of the neck, under the fretboard, going a
little bit into the neck:

No case, but tremolo arm included. Works fine.

No idea what it's worth. Can I open at $250 without getting killed?

Trade wise, I am looking for thick-neck vintage/older feeling guitars.

Strats: MIA/MIJ Fender with wide nut, good-size neck, 9.5" or higher
fretboard radius, possibly G&L. Signature Strats: Malmsteen, Eric
Johson, Clapton, Blackmore. Can add $$$ for a Suhr.

Superstrats/Shredders: Jackson Soloist SL1 or SL2H is interesting, but
I also like many MIJ items like Kramer Focus. Love the U.S Kramers
with Strat pickguard. Guitar must have original Floyd Rose or
equivalent. Again, can add $$$ for a Suhr.

Others: SG (Gibson, Burny, Greco), possibly a ES 335/339.

If you have a Gibson historic R7, R8 or LP Custom that you want to
trade for several of mine (or added dollars) drop me a line.

Just let me know what you have. If it's got a good neck and some
"vibes" of the old-feel/nitro kind I might be interested even if it's
not on the list. I would rather trade for something to try out now
than hold guitars that I don't play (Examples: PRS Mira, PRS Swamp Ash
Special, MIJ double-bound Teles).

I can add or take money and I'm also taking this instead of dollars:
- pickups
- tool for fretworks and nut making
- services (need a refret)
- older/half-new Centrino (Pentium-M) notebook computers

This post is too long...

Should be back now. We had to update that server and it happened at the same time that I posted.

yep.
Nice LP. I had one of those wine red Studios. Classy lookin' guitar. If I had the extra cash, I'd consider it, but alas, I'm a broke arse!

P.M.s answered and some clarifications:

The LP Studio when bought with pickups ships with the gold-covered 490R/498T combo. I think my message above was a little confusing. the open pickups photo I only included so that you can see what it can look like. If you buy it without pickups you get the rings, choice of black or creme rings.

The Hamer Sunburst isn't for straight sale right now. I included it in case somebody want to trade something really cool (R8 or LPC or whatever) for several of mine. If you want to be notified when I get photos and/or sell it, p.m. me your email address. Be warned that it is scratched and dinged and has additional holes for miniswitches in the control area. It has original pickups, no cracks and undamaged paint on the playing area on neck and the top looks very nice, so it isn't bad either.

I apologize for being picky about the Strats I'm interested in.

Bumpinsky.

It turns out the LP Studio has a one-piece mahogany back. Weight on my people scale is 7.8 pounds. There are two people waiting for answers from me on the Studio who have first dibs, though.

I should have replied to all PMs now, if not please poke (sorry).
