FT: 2005 PRS SE Soapbar, seeking Telecaster

ImmortalSix

John Mayer's Mankini
I have a 2005 PRS SE Soapbar that I'm looking to turn into a Telecaster.

Some of you may know it. I picked it up from theodie, who got it from Gr8Scott. theodie put duncans in it and thought the stockers were better, so back in they went!

This is the Singlecut body shape, mahogany, with a subtly arched top. The namesake pickups are PRS soapbars, i.e. P90s.

Tailpiece is a wraparound. Master volume, master tone, 3-way toggle down near the knobs.

I am interested in Telecasters, specifically those in natural finish with two regular Tele single coils. If it ain't natural finish or has a mini-hum in the neck or something, just let me know what you have, either here or via PM, and I'll let you know if I'm interested.

The guitar is light; lighter than any of my other guitars.

It's so resonant that I was astounded when I got it. I had not ever owned a really resonant guitar before this one, and I made this one my number 1 for about a year because of it.

What it boils down to, is that my Telecaster curiousity outweighs my P90 love right now. (rest easy, i have 2 other P90 equipped axes.)

You can hear this guitar on a video demo I made the first day I got it. I have to say, it sounds excellent.

It appears black in real life, but it has a transparent finish and very very very slight burst that you can see only in photographs. The purple color only shows up in long-exposure photographs, not really to the naked eye. It's awesome to see it, and the grain of the mahogany in the photos.

I prefer to do a local deal (NoVA, DC, Maryland) because I don't have a case for this one, but let me know what you have, and we can PM back and forth about the deal details, shipping, etcetera. I've read Dan Erlewine's excellent tips for shipping a guitar many a time, and we'll figure out how to get both guitars to each other safely.

Let the good times roll! Post up, PM me, whatever. I'm getting email notifications of both.

Cheers!
-Hunter

Here's the long exposure shots showing the purple color:

Notice how every inlay on the guitar is two separate pieces of abalone, to form a moon.
