Full shred mag swap?

Crossed a few threads on mag swaps so I ordered four A8's. 1 will automatically go in a JB. Another is going in a Gibson. I was wondering what a full shred will be like with the A8...just wondering cuz I hate the full shred.

What do you hate about the Full Shred?

What are the specifics of the guitar it is in?

What kind of music do you play?

If it were me, I'd pull about 600 ohms worth of winds from one of the coils, replace the A5 magnet with a RUA5 and replace one row of short hex screws with long slotted fillisters. Which coil gets the fillisters and the orientation of the pickup (stronger coil towards the bridge vs. the neck) would be left for experimentation.

Appreciated. I have it in an alder shredder. Just don't like the buzzsaw sound I get with it.

An A8 is probably going to make that worse.

My suggestion will overhaul that pickup completely.
