Anybody ever tried a full shred with a thick ceramic? Anybody know how it is vs the custom with thick ceramic?

Maybe it's not perfect for me?Why fµck with a perfect pickup?!?
So you would say both having the big ceramic that the full shred is simular but brighter and tighter?I put one in an eighties ESP mirage, bolt-on, ebony fretboard and a non-recessed floating bridge. I have no reference point with that guitar, but I do have a Custom with the same magnet in a neck-through Soloist. The FS is tighter, sure, and has less low end. Both have great note separation and retain clarity even with the big magnet. Maybe the FS is a little clearer.
I swapped the Custom+ to a Black Winter the other day and I can say the BW is higher output and middier, but less clear and definitely more extreme. The Custom is just the perfect pickup![]()
That's good to know. I have a nazgul now and it has enough lows to pacify meThe ceramic should boost the low end a little compared to A5, but this thing is definitely bright and crisp. The closest guitar I have, acoustically, is an RG8670 that I have equipped with the nazgul/sentient combo. I'd say the Nazgul is not quite as clear and has less low end than the FS ceramic. I'm sure if I swapped the FS for the nazgul in *this* guitar, the difference would be larger still. Veerry tight pickup, lightning fast response
