Full Shreds

how would a pair of Full Shred humbuckers sound in an all-mahogany, neck-thru Carvin DC127 (super-strat). it has an ebony fretboard and OFR tremolo. also, this guitar has 25" scale length.

any opinions?

is the neck-thru construction too bright or smooth for the FS? does the FS sound better in bolt-ons? and how about the tightness?

thanks!

Re: Full Shreds

I did a friends guitar and put a FS in the Neck, a Epi Special Edition II, a bit different but that FS in the neck ripped man, sounded great. If your doing FS-FS, I can only imagine, and in a Carvin...I think that would glow. LOL

Re: Full Shreds

I think it'd sound very nice. Articulate, tight, and bright (but not harsh and overpowering). I'd be going for full shreds in that guitar, definitely.

Re: Full Shreds

It'll do fine; the full shred's sound fit any tonewood like a glove...I wouldn't worry about it if it's a bolt on or neck thru. I have a basswood and maple neck thru Washburn with a FS and it sounds nice and tight.

Re: Full Shreds

I have fullshred in neck with floyd rose and it sounds awsome. split its high enough peak to sound like a single coil. full with distortion its nice to switch too becouse it has a great neck lead tone. full clean it sounds jazzy but not too much base so it doesnt "fart out"my guitar speakers. Great neck pickup. Bridge pickup was kinda dark so I went with somthing alittle brighter.
