Fulltone OCD impedance

Re: Fulltone OCD impedance

Never had this problem and I also have the V4 OCD with a MXR Carbon Copy. It's been a while since I used pedals, I went for convenience lately with a Zoom G2.1U, so I suffer in tone for the sake of convenience I guess. Anyhow, perhaps it's because I use 2 Seymour Duncan Booster pedals the problem is not noticeable?

My rig would be Guitar>Seymour Duncan Booster1 (to increase the gain stage of the OCD)>OCD 4.0>MXR CC>Seymour Duncan Booster2 (to use as a boost for the whole signal chain)>amp.

Re: Fulltone OCD impedance

Man... now I gotta check this out for myself. I grabbed an OCD from Craigslist two weeks ago and just got a carbon copy on saturday. Haven't tried them together yet.

Re: Fulltone OCD impedance

I played around for about 30min last night... guitar > OCD (v1.4) > MXR CC and everything seemed fine. Even tried two amps - Marshall Class 5 and my Jet City 20... seemed normal. I run the tone on the OCD at about 10-11 o clock and the volume at about the same. MXR settings are very low as well. I played several things and all seemed to work okay with or without the pedals engaged together or alone.

When I reversed the order it got crazy though. MXR CC > OCD is crazy sounding because all the echos get touched by the OCD differently it seems. Cool but not useful for most playing.

I'll keep playing with it to see if I can replicate the issue mentioned, but so far... works fine.

glad things are working :)
I have no problems either...surprisingly, or not surprisingly...

Re: Fulltone OCD impedance

just put the ocd last in the chain because it is a booster preamp.putting it first overloads the effects that come after it.

Re: Fulltone OCD impedance

I think the OCD has a pretty powerful volume control. I find that I like to run it at 11 or 12 o'clock because below that there is some effect on frequency. Sounds more full when turned up. I find the Carbon Copy has some effect on this after the OCD. I don't fully understand the science to all this, impedance or not. I just hear things thin out when I put the Carbon Copy in line. As in all things, this can also have a lot to do with particular guitars and amps. Heck my amps really sensitive to what I feed it.
