Fundamental question regarding the Series-Split-Parallel with Phasing schematic

Good Evening,

I have a basic question to ask about this mod.

Please look at the diagram from the Seymour Duncan link below.

Please tell me if my way of thinking is correct, since I see only "one" four wire cable shown in the diagram I am going to assume that (considering I am interested in modding the bridge pickup only) the bridge pickup will be the pickup to be out of phase against the neck pickup and the bridge pickup will be affected only when activating the switch to go from series to parallel. I need to mention that I will not be using an ON-ON-ON switch, which would mean that there will be no option for a "split sound." I will be using an ON-ON pushbutton switch.

I guess what I am trying to say is when activating the series/parallel part of the mod, will the neck pickup be involved in any way or will only the bridge pickup be involved.

Thank you very much.

Greg

With that wiring, the phase switch will work regardless of the state of the series/split/parallel switch. But you won't hear the effect of the phase switch unless a second pickup is on at the same time.

Thank you for the reply beaubrummels.

I just thought about what I really meant to ask,... assuming it is the bridge pickup that I wire up in the diagram,... when I engage the series/parallel switch will only the bridge pickup be affected (series/parallel'ed) or will both pickups be affected (series/parallel'ed?)

Thank you again.

Only the pickup wired in the diagram is affected.
