I stumbled on to this cool looking shop near Duke Medical Center today. Lots of violins, etc. on the left side, acoustic guitars up front, and a small assortment of electric guitars just before the repair bench. A sign in the window said "Custom Guitars", and they weren't kidding!
Anybody ever seen an 8-string (3 bass/5 guitar) semi-hollow body with 2 bass pickups, 2 humbuckers, and fanned frets? It doesn't show up on the web site http://www.rrgadowguitars.com/, but there were 2 in the store.
I'm still kicking myself because the guy on the sales floor said if I just hung around for a while, the luthier would be in and could give me a tour of the "factory" downstairs... and I had to go to a doctor appointment. :smack:
Next time, I'll make sure to make a luthier's appointment!!!
