That is probably the cleanest 300 you will ever see, and not a bad price. I have a MIJ PGM 30 that I converted to a fixed bridge, and I just picked up a new 301. PGMs are by far my favorite Ibanez models.

Snag it before someone else does!

Re: Gassing for a PGM 300

they changed the neck shape in recent years IIRC. that one would have the original shape

Re: Gassing for a PGM 300

So is the neck shape the only differnce now? I believe they call them PGM 301's instead of 300's.

Wish I could compare the two.

Re: Gassing for a PGM 300

The newer "Prestige" neck has only a one millimeter difference. The 301 came with both profiles, and a fixed bridge vs. the 300 that only came with a trem and the older neck profile.

Re: Gassing for a PGM 300

i guess it's like a JEM. A pimped out RG

Edit: just saw the Ebay ad. HOLY CRAP GET IT!!! lol

Paul woke up one day and said "I don't like tremolos". That's basically it

It actually stems from a combination of laziness and practicality. In the days before he had a guitar tech, he didn't want to spend a whole lot of time restringing his guitars in the hotel room after shows.

That's why I think it's silly that they put a floating trem on his sig guitar.

Re: Gassing for a PGM 300

well probably when he got famous he said "YAY! now I can have floyds and go UWEE UWEE AUUWWWWWWW without worrying about restringing!" then he said "I don't like tremolos"

Re: Gassing for a PGM 300

Paul has mentioned that it interfered to much with his string bending, and the trems cut into his hands.

Re: Gassing for a PGM 300

He doesn't need a Floyd to go weeee uuaaawww eeeuuhhh wewee. He had drills and other assorted tricks for crap like that :D

Re: Gassing for a PGM 300

I haven't had my hands on a PGM300, but the PGM301 which I played has the SMOOTHEST neck ever! I haven't played a neck which was better. It also was the lightest solid-bodied electric I ever lifted!

Re: Gassing for a PGM 300

yeah I think he even got sponsored by a company that made drills hhahha

Re: Gassing for a PGM 300

the PGM is probably the only Ibanez I would buy right this second if I had enough dough, it's crazy awesome.
