Gassing for an alpine white beauty

I have always wanted an alpine white (not vintage or off white) guitar with black binding, and have had a hard time finding any that are this exact spec, The only ones I have found so far is the Ibanez SZ320EX, and I really like that one, but would like to just see what anyone else has seen/owns.

Re: Gassing for an alpine white beauty

All I can add is to say that I agree that the 320 is a sweet looking axe. Messed with one for a short while in the store the other day. Feels nice too. I don't know of any others.

There's always Warmoth...

Re: Gassing for an alpine white beauty

Tried one of those white SZ's the other day. Was close to pulling the trigger. Nearly did until i reminded myself how much i also want a guitar with a floyd

yea, an alpine white strat with their black drop top binding and Hum bridge with single neck and no middle and all black hardware, would be pretty sweet, but a warmoth setup is definitely going to cost me an arm and a leg. Of which I currently don't have any spares.

If you haven't checked out the drop top binding available it sweet, and just in case heres an example...

Re: Gassing for an alpine white beauty

I had an alpine white squire affinity strat once, AWESOME colour. I still have the body, but that's it. I don't like swimming pools.

Re: Gassing for an alpine white beauty

How about an Epi SG Custom in alpine white with a maestro vibrola? There is no white guitar anywhere that is more beautiful. They also make the bright whites in a Std version w/chrome hardware, and another with 81/85 EMG's.

A set neck, & a neck and headstock mounted on angles to the body increase sustain and tone transmitted to the wood (by putting more pressure on the bridge). And then there's the SG fret access...

Enjoy

EDIT:

I Had one of these briefly. Best MIK build quality I've seen. As good as anything I've seen from Japan. Ebony board, and the Rockfield SWV pickups AFAIC, are better balanced PAFs than anything Seymour or Larry makes (production-wise). The guitar sounded EXACLY like a good Les Paul should.

EDIT 2: I did not like the proximity of the knobs, nor was I really wanting the slow Les Paul like string attack , and thats why I only had it briefly.

What about the white Peavey Wolfgangs... don't they have black binding?

Re: Gassing for an alpine white beauty

ESP/LTD has some very nice guitar in white. I beleive they offer an LP, SG and Explorer shaped guitar in white that looks very tempting.

There's always an LP custom. They look deadly sweet in white...

That's very interesting considering The actual pickups are made offshore

Just played a guit with a two slug-row generic Asian bridge HB, like the RockF FatA** and was surprised how warm it sounded. The coils had a nice reddish/orange color too:D

What I've always wanted is a matching set of Warmoth Teles, both thinlines with binding and f-hole binding. One is alpine white w/ black binding, the other is black w/ white binding. :D

Re: Gassing for an alpine white beauty

White guitars are sexy as hell. No better color for a guitar IMO (though there are exceptions to the rule). I'm with you though. There are too many "off-white" colors availible or white guitars that turn yellow. It makes them look like they were peed upon or finished in butter. Yuck. Give me a WHITE guitar any day though.

My personal favorite:

I never get tired of looking at that guitar. The Les Paul Supreme in white is **** good looking too, though oddly enough I like the all-gold guitar of the week version better. Screw it, I'd just take both :D

Re: Gassing for an alpine white beauty

Gretch White Falcon is definitley the prettiest guitar I've ever seen. I'm jealous.. I've always wanted one and I figured I'd get one sometime after the LP Custom, but I haven't quite completely recovered from that financial gouge yet.. hehe. Maybe next year...
