Ok, I got all my answers answered on the forum. Now lastly I need to know what size guage of wire to use for soldering. I think it will be 22g. Should I use shielded or unshielded wire.

Re: Gauge size for wiring

Cloth or plastic .22 for Strat and others. Braided .22 on Gibson. Have even used braided
for output jack on Strat and others.

Re: Gauge size for wiring

I use a plastic insulated 28 gauge solid copper core. Heavier gauges don't always play nice with the tiny terminals on some switches. I use a 25 watt iron to minimize how much insulation retreats.

Re: Gauge size for wiring

Let me throw in some "food for thought".

The higher the awg number the more the wire will naturally attenuate or filter lower mids and bass information.

The lower the awg number the less attenuation of these frequencies.

Guitar wiring a la carte anyone ?
