Re: Gday Im new here and I make metal bodied guitars at the bottom of the world (NZ)

Wow, those are awesome! Welcome to the forum.

You should absolutely do a build thread about one of these. I'd be very interested to see how these are put together.

Cool...... Very "steam punkish" looking. And welcome. It's a cool place to hang

On behalf of McArthur's Corrective Group, it is my duty to point out that New Zealand is at the top of the world, not at the bottom.

Gday most of them range between 4 - 4.5Kg's but that SG worked out to be 6kg's as I used a heaver gauge steel to see if it sounded better (it did bugger all)

Hello I am trying to sell some and am building one for a Gentleman in Pittsburgh U.S.A (that Jaguar), they work out pretty cheap for people in the USA and UK as you guys Dollar/Pound is worth a lot more than NZ 8D

Re: Gday Im new here and I make metal bodied guitars at the bottom of the world (NZ)

Pretty wild. Any weird issues pop up while making these, like what if the bridge holes or other screw holes are off a bit?

Hi, Thanks for your question. Occasionally I drill a hole in the wrong place but you can weld them up and start again which is the beauty with working with metal.

and regarding getting the bridge in the right position, I bolt on the neck first and then once in place I plot out all the positions for the bridge/tailpiece or tremolo off the neck so they are spot on, (the same goes for the pickups)

Sigh... I wish I was in the UK or US... South Africa is a tad (lot) more expensive... Do you think it would be hard to make my own? I've always wanted a steel jazzmaster :D

Is that for the complete guitar or just the body?
