George Lynch and Duncan Distortion

Watching an old George Lynch video last night, he said he used a custom wound Duncan Distortion in his guitar. Anyone know what was different about it?

Just curious,
Steve

Yeah... it was wound to about 10k, used an A5 magnet, and had a row of hex poles ;)

Just kidding. I have no idea what was different.

This video was from the days before that change. ;-)

Sounds almost like it was a Full Shred pickup. Which would be strange, since that's a Vivian Campbell designed pup, but things changed fast in those days.

GL use a non trem spaced sh-6 for years before going to the demon.
his distortion is STOCK.
his real secret to his tone is he uses a all maple body and a ebony fingerboard not to mention hot marshalls back then.
in the old days his played a all maple charvel neck that HE put on a maple body
with a regular trem
then he went to kramers and then ESP.
all these guitars had or have maple bodies.
can you say SCrreeaaaMMM! :laugh2:
