.....has anyone purchased the Furious George CD? I recentl bought this CD and have made it thus far through about half the CD and I am very impressed. George and his band do covers of quite a few tunes and it is a blast to hear George put his stamp on all of these great songs. I encourage other Lynch fans to check it out.

Sounds to me like there are single coil tones all over this CD. Correct me if I am wrong, but I hear some tones reminiscent of Malmsteen.

Re: George Lynch fans......

Yeah I heard it and I'm a big Lynch fan, but I didn't really like the cd. It was too old school for me, I've gone to love Lynch his take on the modern music scene since he formed Lynch Mob. I guess this was something for the more old school fans. I did however like the way he moderned up those covers on "Will Play for Food"

Re: George Lynch fans......

I haven't heard "Will play for food" but I actually think Lynch Mob is fairly old school.

Re: George Lynch fans......

I started a thread a few weeks ago about Furious George when it was first released.
IT'S AMAZING!
AND it's one of the best commercial mixes of the year, hands down!!

Not nowadays my friend, have you heard REvolution? I don't think I've ever hated Lynch Mob albums, even Smoke this had some good tunes. But then again, I never got my hands on all of them because recordstores in this side of the world think they won't sell! :yell: :yell: :yell:

The only thing Lynch has done recently that's even close to his Dokken days is the Lynch/Pilson CD.

After listening to the full CD I can understand what you mean when you say old scholl but the playing and recording is fantastic!! I love Lynch Mob but I meant that it is nothing like Nu Metal which I happen to like. Hehe

Amyway, I didn't like Revolution due to his tone and especially his lead tone. I also wasn't crazy about his live tone on that tour. My favorite Lynch CD is the self titled one. Do you have that?

Re: George Lynch fans......

I have a few songs of that album (sorry guys please don't rant on me, I really want to buy it but they don't have that album in the stores here), I thought the vocals were the best I've ever heard on a Lynch album! Lynch sounded a little dry and not really fitting IMO, but the playing was extraordinary (we're talking about Lynch here, so I guess that should've never came as a suprise)

I thought Lynch sounded awesome on that CD. I may have an extra copy, sen me an email.

Re: George Lynch fans......

REvolution is VERY raw sounding, imo, and a bit too much boom and sizzle, sonically speaking. I love the performances, tho. Lynch was obviously going for a very abrasive tone on that one.
