Gibson burstbuckers - wax potted

You can see from the Gibson site that the burstbuckers sold separately are not potted. It looks like the other HB models are potted when sold separately. This is clear.

That said, the burstbuckers that are factory equipped in Les Pauls are in fact potted, right? Apparently Gibson started potting the BB loaded LPs due to complaints about excess microphonics. What year did they make the change? I found one article that stated 2014.

Yup, except I believe they started potting them in 2008.

Yeah, it wasn't just in the last few years, it was at least 2008, if not before.

Thanks. And it's a bit of a relief because my LP is a 2011. I play loud sometimes. It's funny how pickup experts on other forums belittle SDF. I come here for the truth about pickups.

Guitar Center/Musician's Friend have been selling potted Burstbucker pickups for several years. I've got a type 2 that I bought there 2 years ago. It's fantastic.

There's some very knowledgeable members here, and some guys with a lot of hands-on-experience. This is a good forum to learn from.
