So did Gibson win the lawsuit against DiMarzio? Has anybody seen these guitars? Shipping with "double classic white" bobbins, which we all know what that is about. Or is this their way to get around the patent? If thats the case, SD should do this as well.

theres another thread about that guitar, not sure about the lawsuit, but gibson has deeper pockets and dont mind throwing money at lawyers

We may never know if Gibson paid for the use of them, or what. I'd think if both parties wanted the public to know, they would talk about it.

if the whole part of a trademark is to protect your brand identity, but you allow another company to use said trademark for $$$$$ then how is it protecting your brand identity? ahh lawyers... where would we be without you

Oh I don't know...but maybe again, Gibson could have just said 'come at me, bro'.

When I think "Double Trouble", I think SRV. And when I think SRV, I think Stratocaster. The name just seems odd.

It certainly is an odd name. They could have named it after any artist's song or band that used an LP with double cream pickups. Maybe they are trying to change the association of that phrase. Lots of newer players have no idea who Double Trouble is, after all.
