Gibson Explorer/Flying V wiring with one tone retain treble when rolling down volume?

Do the Explorer and Flying V guitars retain the treble when you roll down the volume knob similar to Les Paul 50's wiring?

I'm thinking about rewiring my Epiphone Les Paul Custom to have two volumes, master tone and a varitone.

Please don't suggest using a treble bleed circuit.

50s wiring is connecting the tone after the volume instead of before. I believe my Explorer was wired that way from the factory, but I can't remember as I've redone the wiring at least half a dozen times since that first time in the summer of 2000. It's wired 50s style now (like all of my guitars with a tone control) as I don't like the way a treble bleed sounds.
