Gibson GAS?

Re: Gibson GAS?

There's something I still don't understand. In Europe, Flying Vs cost around 950 bucks new (roughly $1350). Les Paul Custom : 2600 € which makes $3700, while they cost $3900 on the internet in the USA.

Find a Flying V used around $900 and you'll have a very good price I guess, form what I just said.

Re: Gibson GAS?

As a general rule:

MSRP x .6 = Retail Availability, or $1048. So 11-12 hunnard seems a typical price.

That said - EVERY other manufacturer in the world can make a guitar just like, that doesn't look old and tired, in more colors and AT LEAST the same quality - if not better for 600 NIB.

I like the 800 used option. I'll pay 200 more for the Gibson in Decent condition. I won't pay enough for a V AND an amp.

I'm eyeing a Dean V for 300 or less that will kick the @$$ of that thing - or at least hold it's own.

Re: Gibson GAS?

Bought one (black/white pg) used at GC for $550 cash.. Gibson USA, has a 1/2" U-shaped crack in the finish in the back, on the lower horn, hardly noticable.. I've since upgraded it quite a bit, (pickups, tuners etc).. fantastic guitar..

You can find 'em used all over the place, for 6-800 bucks.. I get alot of "oohs" & "ahhs" when I gig with it.. it's a pretty simple creature really.. wood + wire = guitar
which is appealing to me..

Ridiculous MSRP for 1800.. lol
