Hey played this model at guitar center inbetween looking for somthing else and I have to say I was pleasently surprised. With its mahogany body and P90 pickups it realy pumped out the midrange grind in a wonderfull way. It made the amp clip nicely as well. I actually liked the finish on this guitar I played, it was called worn white. It wasnt a heavy laquer finish like many gibsons, it was a thiner more natural feel that translates well on the neck to a much faster playing instrument then its more expensive upper line counterparts. I consider its tone more in line with an SG and it does have that raw midrange mahogany body tone. Overall I really like it. Its cheap I know and it aint that pretty but its tone is good. I imagine you could play some wicked slide with this guitar by raising the action just alittle or hang it low and play fat chuncky power chords. Eather way, bang for the buck, this is a rockin guitar in this price range.

Check out the Honeyburst and the Goldtop versions. That's where the pretty is.

Love my Tribute HSB.

Here's a pretty cool looking one on Wildwood:

I agree, that looks more like a Les Paul to me too. the gold does look cool with the P90's. for a cheap guitar I think this is a good value. especially when its pluged in and played loud. to me it just has a cool raw tone to it, and the neck isnt clubby and cumbersome, its easy and made for fast action

Oh yeah!! speaking of which.. Had my bud's ( soon to be mine!!!!) plugged intto my Quickrod today.. That thing sounded amazing! I even turned the amp down to gear 1 and had that vintage marshall raw tone going and was jamming out some punk type stuff.

I can see how that would sound good, power chords thru a wall of mirange, and a Marshall cliping nicley. thats a great combo

Les Paul into a Marshall... haven't you heard?

(I personally prefer a SG into a Fender... :D )

But actually yeah, those Gibson P90s sound wonderful. I have them in my Classic and they sound great!!
