Gibson les Paul custom friedman head looking for suggestions!

My current setup rocks I am fighting with this les Paul custom the e strings seem to be a little close to the edge of the neck which makes them liable to slide off every now and then any body ever have this problem with a guitar and what was there solution !! Also new head wondering anyone has cabinet suggestions for this bad boy :)

Yeah, my first thought is to get the a new nut, with better spacing of the strings for that neck.
 
Check how the high E saddle notch is cut too. Is it dead even or is it off to the side. It could be that combined with the nut, or one or the other. It happens, even on Custom Shop guitars, though it should not.
 
I think Leon meant to check your bridge also. Saddles can be replaced fairly easily; you could get un-notched ones and make your own notches with a narrower spacing.

IMO your nut is more likely to be the root of the problem in this case, though.
 
As stated above, the issue is going to be either the not, the bridge or both. The bridge is an easy fix. The nut will need to involve a good tech.

Well thank you guys for replying and giving your feedback I’m hoping to get in touch with my luthier friend soon and have him look at it ... sounds so nice I’d love to see it resolved and ready to play !

No I have never had this problem. Why? Because I wouldn't buy a multi-thousand dollar guitar that anything functionally wrong with it.

That said - just get a new nut.

And I do not believe it will be easier to get a better saddle cut right, than a new nut in any way shape or form.
