Re: Gibson Les Paul Studio Monitors!!! Are you kidding me???

I think I'll slap a flamed maple veneer on the front of my KRKs and save myself a few hundred. :D

Jeebus! I thought it was a joke until I clicked the link. Now the only thing that's funny is the price!

Anyone who's surprised or incredulous about any part of this didn't see their joint venture with Thiel a few years back. In fact, I think it was Gibson's owners who bought Thiel and moved them to Nashville.

Pfff, no binding? I only use LP Custom monitors. Seven-ply, b!tches.

They are coming out with the EPI model soon. They will be about 1/2 the price and they are bound. But they use a photo flame.

I am holding out for the chambered version with a 3 way switch marked rhythm/treble.

Of course, as soon as get them, you'll want to swap out the drivers. ;)

Do they have a Jimmy Page sig model? Do you have to sort through them to find "the good one"?

Sweetwater has them for $600 each, though.

I'm waiting for the Black Beauty with three gold drivers. You KNOW black sounds better than anything. Even gold top.

I'm guessing that their target market are guys that can afford to plunk down an insane amount of money for a rare Les Paul.
