These are my pride and joy. I bought them both stripped, and assembled them from parts I either had, or was able to locate. I think this is a great way to get the Les Paul that you want, rather than getting the one that’s available. The Traditional is a 2013. It was discussed here on the board about which pickups I would use, and I used the Joe Bonamassa Skinnerburst set which are great. The Goldtop is a 50’s Tribute, that had some great features (the access neck, and a titanium nut). Both guitars have the rounded 50’s neck profile, Grover locking tuners, Tone Man 50’s wiring harnesses with Bourns pots, and PIO tone caps. The gold top got P-51 Mustang pickups from D. Allen pickups. They are Alnico 4, as apposed to the A3’s in the Skinner burst set. Both sets are surprisingly similar tone wise, but the Duncan’s have the edge. They are a bit more robust sounding and they sound a bit sweeter. The mustangs cost half as much, and cover a lot of the same ground as the Duncan’s. They are very good for the money. They remind me quite a bit of the Pearly Gates set my studio had.

My buddy recently traded his wife’s 883 Sportster that she never rode, for a Custom Shop Silverburst Custom. He loves the guitar, and it was in excellent condition for an older guitar. I hadn’t seen many silverburst models in person, but I gotta say the color looks great up close.

Yep, it is a nice colour scheme. When I went to buy a Gibby, it was the one that caught my eye.
