Gibson Mecury

I just tried a Gibson Mercury w/ the original cab and I wish I would've boughten yours. It was the liveliest, coolest, raunchiest, smoothest sound I've heard in a while. It was amazing. So emotive. It was the best amp I've played. Including a "boutique" Carr amp I played a month ago. After the j-master project this amp will be mine. I realize now exactly why people like lower gain. :smack:

Re: Gibson Mecury

No, not really.

Just kind of throwing out there. Not that any of you really need to know but just a news update.

Re: Gibson Mecury

I miss mine, but still have tw Atlas heads that I love. They are a lillre raunchier. I just saw a Titan 1/2 stack, the 100 watt version of the Mercury at a store locally. It is quite clean, but more than I have to spend right now.

Re: Gibson Mecury

I'm trying to move down in wattage. My Nomad is too loud. That Mercury sounded amazing. It was very responsive. It was probably the best sounding amp I've played in a very lond time.

Re: Gibson Mecury

There's one on Elderly with the cab for $500

I think Kevlar was selling his head for like 350.

Re: Gibson Mecury

Gotcha. I'm sure I could fine one if I looked for about $250 then. But that's only a head, and I have no cab.
