gibson menace

Re: gibson menace

Those inlays look silly. I would rather stick to the real thing, a Les Paul Standard or something if given the choice. Would take the real thing over the same design but plastered with some fad that would eventually pass.

Re: gibson menace

Menace, Goth, and all the other flat-black, look-how-counter-cultural-and-dangerous-I-am LP's or SG's and whatever blow serious chunks. That stuff just doesn't belong on a Gibson.

If you want a black LP, try a Custom, or maybe one of the translucent black flame Standards at Musicians Friend. Majestic mayhem...

Not everyone has $2k to spend on a LP with an ebony board. This seies and the Goths have a decent price tag at least.

The Goth series was a nice set. I didn't find anything overly trendy about them. What is so trendy/tough about a flat black paintjob and a star inlay at the 12th? Simple design, that's all.

Re: gibson menace

Yeah, I wish Gibson would make an alder bodied, double-cutaway guitar with three single coils, a volume, two tones, a vintage tremelo and a bolt-on maple neck...

What...? Fender makes that?

yeah but that's a FENDER.......

what you were saying was, make a whole diferent guitar. only thing i said was add 2 frets and change the bridge. it doesnt matter espee makes it, its the fact that gibsons, intended to the young market, SUCK (looks vise & feature vise)

inlay at 5th fret?? which IDIOT thought of that?

the voodoo ones were cooler

If they hadn´t been made out of swamp ash, maybe... they sounded like Crap IMO...

The original Gothic series was the best (not to be confused with the Epi Goths) with the moon & star inlay.

I agree... the LP gothic was essentially a "poor man´s LP Custom"... no whacky woods or PU colors, just a satin black finish instead of normal. Great working man´s guitar...

Re: gibson menace

Gibson came out with the Gothic series in like, what was it 2001? The Goth epi line was started in 2003 or something like that...not really gibson doing the copying...

I know, I own a Gibson Gothic SG which is a million times over better quality than the Epi's. I mean with the new Gibson line seems to rip on what Epiphone started with the Pierced LP, then the Sevendust sig LP and so on......
