I'm going to pull the EMG's out of my Flying V and put in a TB-5 and 59 neck. The guitar has chrome hardware and a mirror pickguard. Will Gibson pickup covers fit on Duncans? Anyone know?

That's a Charvel Pro Mod, American-made. It was originally Candy Blue but I had it refinished in Lynch Red Bengal. I don't have it anymore, sold it about a year ago.

Depending on what Gibson p'up you're talking about, the cover may fit the '59.

490R, Burstbuckers and '57 Classic would all fit the '59. 490T and 498T won't fit the '59 due to different polepiece spread.

Trembucker p'ups will only take Trembucker Duncan covers, as the design is proprietary.

You can buy both Duncan p'ups nickel and/or gold covered, so you won't have any problems.

Ohh alright ! If you don't mind telling me who did the finish and how much it was :) that'd be great.

Well, I actually want chrome covers for this guitar. I want to put a 59 and a Custom in it. That way the chrome will match the mirror pickguard. So I may go with an SH-5 (instead of a TB-5) for the bridge and just re-file the string slots on the TOM bridge to match the SH-5. I found a couple of sources for covers that I will check out.

The guitar in my avatar was painted by a local guy a few years ago. I gave him a picture of the finish I wanted (of George Lynch's guitar from Dokken's Under Lock and Key tour in 85). The price was $350.

May I ask you WHY do you wanna go with Gibson covers for your Duncans, if you don't already have'em?

Unless you're OCD, you don't REALLY need to match string spread to match the polepiece spread. I don't think you'll notice any volume-drop because of the mis-alignement.

Excellent-sounding covers that will fit any SH p'up are to be found here:
