gibson pickup ID help

I had a coworker trade me a bridge pickup for lunch. all soldered in, sounds great. trouble is I have no idea what it is.

the DC resistance is about 15.6k. uncovered. stamped with the new gibson base plate. 2 conductor.

according to the gibson site, they don't offer anything that hot. what could I possibly be looking at here? the 500T is rated at 11.4. the new dirty fingers is labeled as such. the previous owner casually said "oh it came out of something..."

either way, it sounds great. just curious to know what I've got

thanks

according to the gibson site
The Gibson site is obviously managed by non-musicians... most of their own p'ups published data is WRONG.

Not the first time and unlikely to be the last...

Re: gibson pickup ID help

500Ts are around 15-point-something KOhm IME, usually approaching 16K. No way they are 11.5 KOhm under any circumstances.

If it has an ultra-fat center magnet, and two side magnets instead of spacers, then it's a 500T. If not...I don't know what it could be.

IMO, it must be a 500T.

498T are about 14,5k and 500T 15k to 16k so my guesses would be a 500T too

Original Dirty Fingers humbuckers from the early Eighties were high DCR. Output cable format varies. Of course, the distinguishing feature of the DF was twelve screw polepieces.
