Gibson quick connect wiring colors and installing PGs into PCB

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a 2016 LP Studio. I bought Pearly Gates not knowing my guitar had the quick connect thing until opening it up. If possible I'd like to avoid rewiring everything so I can save some money (and time). That said, if there is a real tone improvement I would. (Offhand question: any word on if the 2016s use 500k vol pots? If they are 300k I might lean more toward a full change.)

My main question is about the feasibility of snipping the connection from the quick connect wire and then soldering the PG wires to the ones that are attached to the quick connector. I am not so sure on the coloring code for the quick connector pickups. I googled it but ended up with uncertain results, though it appears the coloing is different than on standard Gibson pickups.

Thank you

I had that prob with a Gibby I bought a couple of years ago.. wanted to change the pups but had the quick connect system. at the time there were NO avail connectors that I could put on some other pups to make em work.. I think there was a thread not long ago where someone found some, but I wouldn't swear to it. here is a thread that shows how to wire em that may be helpful:

I hate the system cuz it keeps you limited to only Gibson pups.. They are now offering some of their other models with the connectors

I believe there are a few vendors selling those connectors to wire onto any pickup. In a way, I kinda wish all companies would settle on some sort of standard, but that is unlikely.

The thing is...you can.unplug everything, remove pickups, and lift the PC board out, then you have a little box to put it all in and lable it stock parts for my 16 LP. Now you have a blank canvas for to paint with your artistic flair. 50's wireing and your choice of about a gazillion pu combos. If you ever trade or sell you can keep your cool stuff and re-plug all the stock stuff. Your guitar is now completely stock a d just like brand new. Way cool and you wont have committed the sin (when your 16 becomes a valuable antique in 30 years) of defaceing tomorrow's fortune. Ya know, the 59 LP with acme super distortion globs of feces material. Just a thought...(mines a.'14, soooo)been there
