Gibson SG Faded Special & Gibson pickup covers

hey hey

what if i install same pickup covers than SG Standard has to SG Faded Special?
how it will affect tune and sound? if i get them installed in professional guitar shop

anyone done this?

also are these the right ones?

I think the SG faded comes with a pair of Gibson 490's... they should fit standard covers with no problems.

Do a search. the installation process of covers has been covered many times in the pick up room.I think there's even a couple of different ways to do it...

As far as sound goes, I'm not too fond of the 490's. I quickly replaced mine. Try a SD C5 and '59 in there. Order them with chrome covers for conveneince. Some people will say a cover mellows out the tone a little bit or rolls off some of the highs. I personally don't really notice it but that might be something you like in an SG.

special faded has humbuckers (4190R and 490T)
so is it sure that those 2 covers fit im about to order!

Gibson covers on a Gibson PU? Should fit no problem. :duck:

With aftermarket covers you'd have to be careful with the pole spacing, but I don't see why a Gibson cover wouldn't fit a Gibson USA pup.
