Gibson sues Elderly Instruments...

Re: Gibson sues Elderly Instruments...

I do not in any way support what Gibson is doing, but if we only knew how half of the companies out there we buy things from ran things or some of the things/ideas they advocate we would probably have to move to the wilderness and live in caves. Gibson is just flamboyant about it!! I'm just glad I play Fenders and Gretschs.

i fail to see how gibson apologists are gonna see through this one- contract or not, that is an honest mistake being milked for money. just as gibson have a 'right' to do it, everyone else has the 'right' to boycott their 'new' stock.

a musical instrument is a part of your artistic expression - to know that something you're gonna be communicating your thoughts with has that kind of childish greed attached to it? stroll on!

Re: Gibson sues Elderly Instruments...

This is definitely NOT a smart move for Gibson. It doesn't change the fact that I love my RI 0 LP Special DC and I am very impressed with the quality.

If I can find another brand that gives me what I want tonally without paying for the brand name or supporting their crappy ethics, I would, but at this point, I believe that a good Gibson makes one heck of a professional instrument.

I hope the whole PRS-Gibson thing gets straightened out and PRS can start producing more Singlecuts because those were really wonderful guitars.

It's easy to jump on the Gibson hating bandwagon, but here I can't see Gibson as completely at fault.

As far as Elderly, I've always heard great things about that store and I hope there is a way that they can get out of this without any serious consequences. The fact is that Gibson told them to stop selling it, they simply renamed the title and kept it for sale. It is in fact Elderly's fault, bottom line. Hopefully, the company and store can come to an agreement on this.
