Gibson X-Plorer Studio

Just came back from the Philly guitar show this past weekend (anyone else go?) and saw a great Gibson X-plorer Studio w/ HSC in dead mint condition for $695.00. I'm still kicking myself for not buying it! Bright yellow with chrome hardware.

I've tried to find the same guitar, but am having no luck. Does Gibson still make these?

Why would you want one of those? They sound horrible. Poplar bodies? You really want that?

well it looks good anyway... the x-plorer pro looks better in my opinion but probably costs more. I've played a poplar Gibson Melody maker that sounds great, don't see a problem with it. looks great in that copper. If you like it get one.

as a side note, why does gibson now call the Explorer the X-plorer and the flying v the v-factor? Are they trying to be "X-treme" and appeal to 13 year olds the nation over? is there some copyright dispute?

Nothing wrong with poplar, but i have no clue how it sounds in an explorer...
