Give a listen to this slow blues by Little Robert

Howdy,

This is my first post and first clip.

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=578168

I'd like some feed back, so what do you think?

Recording info:

Guitar: Heritage H150 w/ seth lovers
Amp: little old Kay w/ 6" speaker
Recorded on Boss BR-532
Miking: Built in condenser mike only
Mixing: Done on headphones

lead guitar and vocal recorded @ same time, no pedals or effects.

Alright, I'll admit my playing is weak, and it's tough to for me to play with myself using headphones. The vocal is low in the mix and it's a bit noisy, but so what :)

But, I had a tiny bit of free time and haven't touched that digital recorder in close to 2 years so what the heck!

Thanks,
Little Robert

Nice feel. Its sounds very Peter Greenish. Both vocally and your playing. Nice tone

Thanks for the compliments Bluedave. I'm into P Green so that's cool.

PS: The thread title is a little ambigious. As clarification, I performed this song, and did not write it. I think Elmore James is the first recording that I heard of this song.

Nice phrasing.

Reminds me of B.B. King, in the sense that you can take 3 or 4 notes and make a million different phrases/sound like you're playing up and down the neck, but you're not. I think that's much harder to master more than shredding through scales up and down a neck at a trillion miles per hour.

in other words, right on.

I think phrasing is really important and seems to be overlooked by many players. Phrasing is important in all types of music, and we each have the ability with the guitar to really create an individual voice because of the control one can have over dynamics, length of notes, their decay and so forth. So don't be afraid to practice the same thing over and over to try and get control over how different you can make each note, and thus the whole phrase sound.

First, welcome aboard.

Man, I really dug that. The simple recording just adds to the vibe, IMO. Nice job. A million notes per second can be cool, but that is every bit as cool to me. Thanks for sharing it with us.

(I could point out something that you inadvertantly said in your first post that made me laugh, but I'll take it easy on you 'cause your a new guy...lol)
