GK 250ml Series II

Up for grabs is this GK from the late 80's. This lunch box sized amp delivers 50 watts per channel in stereo to 2 6" internal speakers. Or use it as a killer head with 2 4x12 cabs. This is the 80's metal sound of Dokken, Def Lepard, Rush you name it. Killer gain channel over the top boost, warm, lively clean channel with compander and gain boost for a raw, bluesy sound. Digital echo and chorus. This is not mint in appearance, has scratches and dings, nothing that affects operation. Amp was recently serviced and spec'd.

Issues:

The speakers work, but like almost all of these, the surrounds have disintegrated. I had replaced one speaker with a re-edge, but that didn't last as it was a poor job. I will include the one new speaker I ordered from GK (I think it was $60), plus an original that needs to be re-edged by a pro (about $20-$30), as well as the 2 original speakers in the unit.

This amp is playable as is at rehersal or practice, or turn off the internals and plug into a cab for the gig, which I always did anyway.

Since my metal days are over, will accept best cash offer, or trade for/towards a small (under 20 watts) tube amp, a Deluxe Reverb Reissue, Custom Vibrolux (I know, not 20 watts) Vibro Champ or any other interesting trades considered. Pics available on request for serious offers. Check my ebay feedback under smacit2ya, or the always cool davidd, right here on the SD forum for references. Thanks for looking.

Re: GK 250ml Series II

Not sure if it was clear, this is a WORKING amp. Since there has been no interest in trades, BEST CASH OFFER TAKES IT. Oh yeah, the GK 250ml makes a great paperweight, too (which is what it has been used for recently). LOL :smack: Any reasonable offer will probably be accepted....

Thanks,

Re: GK 250ml Series II

Those are great amps- I was wondering if you knew where to get replacement speakers for them

Re: GK 250ml Series II

Those are 5" Pyle speakers jmh. I had a new 250ml in the 80's, series II with the matching 2x12.

I doubt the original poster has had any interest in this post, oh... for about 5 years or so.

Re: GK 250ml Series II

I agree that the OP is probably history.

I have one of these, and my speakers have also disintegrated over time. Amp still works fine. If anyone has any questions about these, I'll try to answer them.

I did find a source for the replacement speakers a while ago. I'm using tube amps now, so it wasn't really worth the expense to replace the speakers.

Great portable amp, and it has a true stereo chorus effect.
