GK 800RB vs. tube preamp into solid state power amp

Thinking about replacing my 800RB with a Peavey TB Raxx tube preamp into a QSC, Carvin or Mosvalve solid state power amp. Cabinet is a Bag End 1x15. I'm hoping to get a stronger rounder sound with less grit/overdrive than the 800RB.

I like the GK-1001RB way more than the 800RB myself. The 800RB is not quite a one-trick pony but it was designed to have more of a warm & vintage sound than the much more versatile 1001RB.

I don't know much about the TB Raxx though but I spent 15 years gigging and recording with a single 1001RB amp doing everything from classic rock, funk and hard rock to hip-hop, reggae and modern rock.
