Hello out there thank you for your help in advance. I currently own Hartke Xl410 and xl115 cabs and I want to make sure I am not going to blow something up if I hooked up either just to the 410 cab which is rated at 400w at 8ohms and the head is rated at 800 watts at 4ohms. My 115 is rated at 200w at 8ohms and I would be running that in bigger gigs but not 100% of the time. Any advice would be helpful! Thanks!

Just don't dime the amp, and if your speakers distort at all (it's an ugly sound, you'll know what it is) turn it down. You'll be fine.

I thought I had been told never to use an amp with a lower ohm rating than the cab it's hooked up to... that's why I was asking! Normally I set up my amps gain to just before it clips and adjust the master volume to where I need it...

The GK Fusion series has a solid state power section. They are rated for a minimum ohm rating. Do not go below this. You can go above. I won't get into the electrical maths of why, but just don't go below it. Amp rated for 4 ohm minimum will drive an 8 ohm load just fine, though pushing less power.

Tube amps must match the load they are hooked up to. Their electronics differ, and going too much in either direction can cause tube sockets to arc and short, and do other nasty things.

That said, you can run your two cabinets in parallel, which equates to a 4 ohm load, which matches that amp just fine.

Understood. Thanks very much for your advice, I'm planning on getting this baby to try out since I haven't been able to mess with one in person. Thanks!

This is all true. Good advice here.
