Glad to have this one back.

I really don't know why I sold this bass but I'm happy to have it back. I think I was on a more classic bass trip and got carried away with P and J type basses and got talked into selling it but no matter it's back now. I've just rehearsed with it and it's just so cool and easy to play and I think it looks pretty badass too. Sandberg basses are well worth a look of you are in the market for a quality alternative to any of the big names.

I bet that thing can sound quite heavy.

That bridge looks super comfortable.
It's pretty good and Sandbergs own bridge. Just last night I changed it for the newer style bridge which is easier to set up and feels even more solid.
Here's a pic of the old one

It can sound pretty heavy although not so much as my mates Stingray or Sterling. However, it's very versatile with the buckers that can be split leaving the 2 neck side coils on and a Glockenklang active system. More tone though than outright power.

Love and stuff, but I cannot stand an Ash body that sin't grian filled smooth.
I hear ya Jer, not everyone's cup of tea I know. I happen to like the look and feel, it's actually not as open grained as it looks and it resonates like a mofo.

I'm pretty sure I played one of their J-Type basses at a jam night a couple of weeks ago and was extremely impressed. Great tones and so easy to play. Congrats!

Re: Glad to have this one back.

Cheers Stevie, I personally haven't played a bad Sandberg. I have tried loads when PMT had a wall full and not one bad one that I could tell.

Re: Glad to have this one back.

That's nice!! Yeah, the bridge is beautiful in its simplicity!
Solid looking neck joint too
Jerry, filled or not, Im always excited to get a good piece of ash....

Re: Glad to have this one back.

Cheers BR, yeah it's a really cool set up and so easy to work on.

Re: Glad to have this one back.

That bridge and net joint look like a dream!

Re: Glad to have this one back.

Yeah they are really well built, the six screw neck joint is their standard fitting.

The odd one out is the red P bass, it has a traditional bridge which leads me to believe it may have been a special order.

Re: Glad to have this one back.

That bridge looks like it's a Babizc full contact unit, maybe licensed.

Great looking and well built bass BTW and You're lucky you got it back!
