I saw AIC live at the Hollywood Palladium in February... JC's sound is absolutely devastating live. Simultaneously rips your face off while kicking you in the chest. It perfectly sits in that gray zone between hard rock and metal.

Don't post the whole URL inside a YOUTUBE tag. Just use whatever's after the v= part. Like this.

I have always loved Jerry's tone(s). After watching that video I can see why!

Anybody named Jerry is alright in my book!

The dude's used a small army of amps over the years and his tone has remained relatively consistant.

I think a lot of it comes from the mix of sizzly high gain w/ V30s and thick not quite as high gain through G12Ms.

definitely one of my all time fav tones. heavy and articulate.

I like Black Gives Way To Blue a lot more than I thought I would. The songwriting is very, very good and Jerry does most of the main vocals, except for one song. Will usually does supporting harmonies. It is clearly a full-fledged AIC disc and the band was very clear that they're not trying to replace Layne with Will, and I think that effort shows.

This is my take on it as well. It's a great album—not Dirt-great, but very solid. They moved forward naturally, and it sounds like AIC through and through without compromise. There's a darkness in Staley I miss, but otherwise it feels like they moved forward without skipping a beat.

Professional opinion.
