Noodle around mostly late 60s - early 70s plus here and there with jazzy blues stuff...
Have Strat w/ Pearly gates bridge, Les Paul with Pearly Gates set, G&L ~ Tele w/ Seth Lovers, PRS with AP2 (don't think I want to mess with them they sound perfect as is), Hofner travel thing with 59n (repaired base plate thanks to forum members).

I'd stick it in the 59. It's always seemed to bassy and scooped to me. The PG is perfect as is (to my ears).

I second the '59n. But do yourself one better and make a '59/'78 hybrid and toss the A4 in. It's worth it, trust me. It makes a better PAF than many production humbuckers.

what is a 59/78 hybrid?

Ya take one coil from a 59 (I used the slug coil from the 59) and one from the 78. Then you put them together on the same baseplate and chuck an A4 in their. The coils to the 59 and 78 are similar enough that they work together but different enough that they cover each others weaknesses. I would try to describe the exact tone to you, but its sounded different in all 3 guitars I've tried it in.

Stuck it in the 59n and sounds awesome....really too good for my travel guitar....gotta figure out how to put it to good use...maybe neck of tele instead of SSL-1???

A4 into a 59n takes care of all the complaints that one has about the 59n in a guitar with lots of inherent low end.
