I'm building a Tele and bought the Hot Tele Set that comes with a chrome pickup cover for the neck pickup. I've never worked with single coil pickups before. I've found several gold pickup covers on amazon that look like they might work but wanted to check with you guys to see if there is a specific product that you can verify will work with this pickup. I've experimented before on other projects and ended up wasting time and money trying to find a good quality replacement. I'm hoping someone can tell me about a product that will work and looks good.

The gold covers might be brass. They will work but might change the tone slightly.
Pickup covers are not magnetic, but any conductive metal close the coil has an effect of dulling the high frequencies slightly. This is why nickel silver is generally preferred over brass.
But if the cover is thin enough it won’t have too much of an effect.
