I"m thinking about putting new pups in my Dean Hardtail goldtop. Does anyone have any pics of a goldtop guitar with black open coil pups and or zebra pups? I want to see how it looks with both hopefully.

I prefer the look of double cream pickups on both goldtop and flametop Lesters....hell, even on a plain top.

I've always preferred zebras on LP's, but I do like the look of cans with a pickguard, especially on a gold top.

And there it is. I like either double cream or nickel covers on a goldop. I didn't clarify nickel as a preference in my op.

Don't much care for zebras in a Goldtop, TC's double cremes look great!

Here's my 1990 Classic with double black. Duncan distortion and stock 496r (or whatever that was) It's got top hat knobs on it these days......

I like double cream or nickle. the black is OK, but I think you need black pickup rings and maybe a black guard(I prefer no guard).

I prefer the cream/nickel combination. Please do let my ownership of a Goldtop LP Std P90 LE give you the idea that I might be biased.

IMO, too many black plastic parts showing on a Goldtop and it begins to look a bit Snowey White.
