Gerald Weber puts out some great stuff. Some of it is very technical, though. Aspen Pittman's book (Tube AmpBook) is good too, but also technical. There's a book on guitar/amp maintenance for guitar players, by Richie Fliegler. I think it's called Complete Guitar & Amp Maintenance. Look on the JK Luthier website, they have it for $14.95. It's one of those books I've been meaning to get for a while.

I got Complete Guitar & Amp Maintenance for Christmas as well as a Erlewine book How to Make Your Guitar Play Great or something along those lines.
Richie Fliegler's book just isn't worth it. Very thin, and you can get all the info in there from websites.
Erlewine's book is much more comprehensive, but doesn't covers amps. Great book though.

Gerald Weber's first book, "A Hip Guide" is pretty good, and not as technical as some others, like Kevin O' Connors series.
His emphasis is mostly on Fender amps, and includes quite a few schematics.
Offhand, I can't think of a book that goes into SS amp repair.

I got a book for Christmas called "Valve Amplifiers, 3rd Edition," by Morgan Jones. It doesn't cover solid state amps, but it's a great reference book for tube amps.
As for guitars, both of Dan Erlewine's books are great..."How to Make Your Electric Guitar Play Great," and "The Guitar Player Repair Guide."
