I just picked one up but it has the"other" duncans in it...what's a good one to fatten up the sound without going to an emg 85?

What kind of music are you playing?

What's the amp/FX situation like?

well.......I have a rebiased crate blue voodoo with el34's a vintage 30 cabinet.......I tend to like metal like opeth, carcass, necrophagist, iced earth, some thrash metal and neo classical......I have had a custom custom in my esp m2 like 12 years ago but not sure about the dinky...thanks for asking!

I use the jb in both of my guitars and i love it, clear sounding, and still great singing lead tones.
The custom i awesome as well, very tight, and better for rhytm IMO but not as good as the jb for lead.
But of course it´s all about preference really. :)

What Duncans are in there now?? If you want the sound fattened, and there´s already a Duncan Custom in there, then it´s really kind of senseless to recommend a Duncan Custom ;)

CC or an invader depending how much output you'd like. Personally, I'd go with a CC.

When you say "other" duncans in there, do you mean Duncan Designed? If that's the case, then ANY Seymour Duncan will be an improvement.

For the music you like I'd stick with something like a JB with a small ceramic magnet; Duncan Distortion; Custom or Custom 8.
