good footswitches?

what i am talking about is a footswitch pedal that switches between 2 amps or two guitars.

i really dont know where to start.

what are some good ones i should look into? are they all pretty much the same, so i should go with the cheapies? or are there switches that are seriously better than the rest?

Re: good footswitches?

I like Morley ABY boxes. Reasonably quiet and decently priced. I used to use one onstage to switch the bass player's & my vocals to a harmonizer. I also liked DOD AB switches, too.

Re: good footswitches?

Switching between two guitars is easy. Switching between two amps can cause ground loops and can require some isolation.

Ya know, I've never had that problem. I was switching between a fully overdriven Fender 75 and a Musicman 112 with more stompboxes than you could count. I'm still doing the switching thing in between power amp channels and those would theoretically be more sensitive to noise than guitar amps, which are noisy enough by themselves

You're lucky. I had some nasty ground loop issues when running a stereo guitar output into two amps.

+1

It has worked well for me for years, but I know some have had noise issues. I think it may depend as much on the amps being used as the switch itself.

So far, the Morley likes Mesa, Peavey, Bogner, and the Rack of Doom.
